Access Nature Forum Meeting
Meeting Date - July 12th at 7 pm
The Access Nature Forum is a place to have conversations about improving access to natural places. We aim to engage those with disabilities, their families, caregivers, veterans’ groups, assisted living organizations, advocacy groups, nonprofit organizations, state, and local officials, and agencies in a public discourse that identifies public interest, concerns, and ideas, and join their voices for improving access to natural places.
We will hold quarterly conversations via Zoom.
If you are interested in participating please fill out the sign-up form below.
Join us on July 12th for the Access Nature forum to talk about the accessibility work we are completing! Hear from the Access Nature Disability Advocate, Sean Kane Holland, as he talks about the important work the Access Nature Initiative and its cohort of allies, volunteers, and partners are undertaking. Sean will outline trail maintenance projects at Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, the growth of inclusive/accessible educational eco-tours provided by Pinelands Adventures, acquiring and testing of rugged wheelchair designs, and site evaluations for inclusion and accessibility features to populate the AccessNatureNJ.org interactive map. We will discuss our goals to make the outdoors more inclusive and accessible for individuals with special needs. You will learn about how to get involved and how the public can support ongoing projects. There will be time to ask questions at the end of his discussion.
When you RSVP to attend and the Zoom meeting link will be sent to you automatically by email. Make sure to check your spam/junk folder. A recording will be available if you are unable to attend.
