Access Nature Forum Meeting
Meeting Date - September 13th at 7 pm
The Access Nature Forum is a place to have conversations about improving access to natural places. We aim to engage those with disabilities, their allies, caregivers, state, and local officials, land managers, and nonprofit organizations in a public discourse that identifies public interest, concerns, and ideas, and joins their voices for improving access to natural places.
We will hold quarterly conversations via Zoom.
If you are interested in participating please fill out the sign-up form below.
Join us on September 13th at 7 pm for a conversation with Craig Ismaili, a staff attorney with Disability Rights NJ, and his colleague Regina Smith. This presentation will summarize the relevant regulations regarding inclusion and accessibility for vision impairments, deaf or hard of hearing, sensory processing disorders, and anxiety. They will highlight examples from across the country and brainstorm best practices for increasing accessibility and enjoyment of outdoor spaces in NJ in relation to these disability concerns. Finally, attendees will review considerations and tips to begin the conversation about accessibility in their own space. There will be time to ask questions at the end of the discussion.
When you RSVP to attend and the Zoom meeting link will be sent to you automatically by email. Make sure to check your spam/junk folder. A recording will be available if you are unable to attend.
