Note: Why these notices come at short notice is because we have to wait for the nebulous and undemocratic planning board process to know how, when, and where these meetings will be held, otherwise we only want to send out reliable information.
Protecting contiguous habitat like the Pole Bridge Forest is critical to the protection of the Pinelands. The likely final planning board meeting in Pemberton Township will feature Wildlife Testimony by Emile DeVito Ph.D who will discuss the high value of the habitat that exists in the area that is proposed to be bulldozed for retirement condos.
Your presence will help shine some light on the opaque process underway at the Planning Board. Regardless of any vote the board may take this testimony should give us solid grounds if an appeal is needed.
The land use lawyer representing us, Stuart Lieberman, will cross examine the corporation's witness if one is presented.
Because planning boards are among the most opaque government institutions in our state, we need forest supporters like you to show that we are a force to be reckoned with.
It is important to know that there are many steps in this process, and even if the Planning Board makes a poor decision, we will still an opportunity to protect the forest at Pinelands Commission and perhaps in other venues.
